Termez Archaeological Museum is the only museum of archeology in the country and is one of the specialized museums. This museum is one of the most remarkable places of our city, which revives the many thousands of years of history of the ancient Surkhandarya oasis.

The Termez Archaeological Museum consists of an entrance hall, 9 main exhibition halls, a numismatics exhibition hall, an exhibition hall dedicated to the Japanese archaeologist Kato Kyuzo, a small exhibition hall and a pavilion gallery. The museum also has a library that houses rare manuscripts and literature.

  • In the part of the entrance hall there are finds from the Bronze Age (3-2 thousand years BC) to the XV century AD;
  • Kato Kyuzo Exhibition Hall is an exhibition hall dedicated to the life and scientific research of Japanese scientist Kato Kyudzo
  • Hall I is called "Surkhandarya oasis in the Stone Age" (100-3 thousand years). Exhibits from the Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic and Eneolithic periods are housed in this hall.
  • Hall II is called "The Bronze Age of the Surkhandarya oasis" (3-2 thousand years BC) and shows the findings of this period.
  • Hall III is called "Ancient Bactrian culture" (early I millennium BC - late IV century BC) and consists of samples of material culture of the Late Bronze and Early Iron Ages of the Surkhandarya oasis.
  • Hall IV - Hall of Culture of the Bactrian period of Macedonian Alexander and Hellenistic states (329 BC - mid-II century BC) embodied in itself.
  • Hall V is called "Culture of the Kushan period of ancient Bactria" (I-III centuries BC) and contains exhibits from this period.
  • Hall VI is called "Northern Tokharistan in the Early Middle Ages." In this hall there are finds from the IV-VIII centuries.
  • Hall VII is called "Northern Tokharistan in the developed medieval dervishes" (the first quarter of the IX-XIII centuries) and houses exhibits of this period.
  • Hall VIII - "Culture of the period of Amir Temur and the state of the Temurids of Termez and Chaghaniyon" (early XVI century 1370), the archeological artifacts of these periods will be presented to the audience.
  • Hall IX is called "Surkhan oasis in the XVI-early XX centuries" and contains the masterpieces of our material culture of this period.
  • In the numismatics exhibition hall there are valuable items and numismatic findings.
  • There are large-scale exhibits in the attic gallery.
  • The library contains more than 3,700 manuscripts, historical literature and fiction books.

As of 2020, the total number of exhibits in the fund of the Termez Archaeological Museum will exceed 100,000. Of these, more than 70,000 are archeological exhibits, and about 30,000 are exhibits of the numismatic fund.
