The name of a great statesman and general Amir Temur is indissolubly connected with the history of Termez and other cities of Surkhandarya. In autumn of 1370 in the field of battle near Termez, Sayyid Baraka a future spiritual mentor of Amir Temur presents him the attributes of power as banner and drum blessing him.

A.Temur visited Termez repeatedly and used to stay in the places of Termez Sayyids with whom he maintained good friendly relations. One of the outstanding members of this dynasty Abdul Maali had served to Islam in Shakhrisabz many years and was honored to be buried in the Saidon Mausoleum next to ashes of A.Temur’s spiritual mentor Sheikh Kulal. During the reign of A.Temur Termez turned into a big city. Rui Gonzales de Klaviho, the ambassador of a Spanish king to A.Temur visited Termez in 1404 and witnesses “we travelled a lot to get to the city that finally arrived home getting vexed as all way long we rode through squares and crowded streets.”
